The Pack Project

About The Pack Project

It all started with Laura, our founder & director, seeing a post on Facebook about 30 dogs that were due to be killed in a Romainian pound in early 2017. Having recently travelled to Asia and South America she had seen the plight of street dogs and cats first hand, and had also adopted a Thai dog meat trade rescue and a Cypriot stray and her return home. So she encouraged her friends and family to sponsor the dogs so they could be saved.

After securing sponsors Laura decided to head out to the rescue centre that was saving them to see where the money would be going. With a background in marketing and photography, and recently acquired dog behaviour knowledge, she thought she could help the rescuers by highlighting the dogs for adoption in a more appealing way. Seeing the extent of the situation and how poorly funded she decided that wasn’t enough and that she needed to do more.

The Pack Project was launched a few months later in July 2017, once a core team had been established, and a few months later the charity were given authorisation by the Charity Commission.

Over the last 7 years over 1100 adoptees have found their forever homes, including some with celebrities such as Jade Thirlwall, Olivia Attwood and Rosie Marcel, and that number keeps on rising we are pleased to say.

We partner with an incredible rescue centre called Care For Dogs Romania and continue to work hard with them to find as many homes as we can.
